AKWAPIM S: Plans to re-gravel roads far advanced – DCE

Mr. Winston Kwadwo Affari Djan, the District Chief Executive for Akwapem South, has assured the people that plans were far advanced for the re-gravelling of roads in the area.

Mr. Winston Kwadwo Affari Djan, the District Chief Executive for Akwapem South, has assured the people that plans were far advanced for the re-gravelling of roads in the area.

He said this would make it is to make easy transportation of farm produce from the area to marketing centres and also to improve the socio-economic activities of the inhabitants of the newly created district.

Mr Djan said this at a ceremony at which Mr William Banful Amadi from Pepawani, a farming community in the Akwapem South District, was hounoured as the Best Farmer of the area at the Farmers Day celebration at Nsabaah-Pokrom near Aburi.

Mr Amadi, who owns a 100-acre mixed farm of cassava, plantain, palm, pineapple, pawpaw as well as poultry, sheep and goats was awarded 29-inch television set and farm inputs.

Fifteen farmers from Nsakye, Pakro, Akwakupom, Agyanoa, Ahirisu, Kwame Ntow, Aburi and Berekuso  also received farm implements and certificates.
