AKWAPIM S:Over 200-seater ict centre ready soon

A new information and Communication technology centre has been built for the people of Aburi, the capital of the Akwapim South District in the Eastern Region.

A new information and Communication technology centre has been built for the people of Aburi, the capital of the Akwapim South District in the Eastern Region.

The facility which is about 200 to 250 capacity was built by the Ministry of Communition  as part of efforts to accelerate and enhance learning of ICT skills as well as assist people in the area with research works. The facility also is in fulfillment of government’s plan of extending ICT centres to deprived communities to help bridge the gap in knowledge acquisition in this field.

Mr. Winston Afari Gyan, the District Chief Executive said though work on the physical infrastructure has been completed and computers ready, they are yet to be installed. He said the facility is also in fulfillment of government’s plan of extending ICT centres to deprived communities to help bridge the gap in knowledge acquisition in this field.

The centre would benefit students as well as interested members of the general public.

The DCE however expressed optimism that the centre would be ready for commissioning the next time the president visits the district.
