KWAEBIBIREM:30 train in soap-making

Thirty people, comprising 26 females and 4 males have undergone a ten-day training course on soap-making at Kade in the Kwaebibirem District of the Eastern Region.

Thirty people, comprising 26 females and 4 males have undergone a ten-day training course on soap-making at Kade in the Kwaebibirem District of the Eastern Region.

The course organized by the Rural Enterprises Programme in collaboration with the Kwaebibirem District Business Advisory Centre (BAC) under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, trained the participants on how to make different kinds of soap using palm oil.  

Addressing participants, district head of BAC, Mr. Stephen Mantey Yeboah said the centre exists to build the capacity of individuals and also assist micro and small scale businesses to grow through mentorship and vocational entrepreneurial skills.
 
He praised the District Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Reginald Aboagye Osae, for his commitment and support to the centre and commended him for bringing the programme to the district.

Mr. Mantey Yeboah, indicated that the centre would soon roll out new models to train more people in batik tie and dye and other income generating ventures. 

The District Chief Executive for the area Mr. Emmanuel Aboagye Osae, reiterated the government’s commitment to develop the human resource of the country. He said the government was determined to build the capacity of many Ghanaians through vocations in order to empower them economically.

Mr. Osae, said the course was to help the people in the district to become financially independent and therefore called on the participants to work hard to sustain the programme.
