Flooding is one of the major problems facing most places in Ghana in which the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has channeled most of its resources to mitigate but to no avail.

It is in line with this that the Assembly woman for Gbawe Electoral Area in the Ga South Municipality, Madam Amina Seidu is calling on government as well as benevolent organizations to come to their aid to construct culverts within the area to reduce the incidence of flooding facing them.

“The NADMO people came to construct some drains for us before the onset of the drains but we need proper culverts,” she indicated.

Although she commended the NADMO for constructing the drains for them, she however called for more to be done to put a stop to the perianal flooding which disturbs the area.

Madam Amina who made the information in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com said most of the houses close to the drains usually get their houses flooded when it rains and according to her, the situation has been rampant because the drains were too small to absorb all the debris and rushing water passing through it hence over flowing its limits and running into homes to cause havoc.
