The Kumawu District Assembly within the relatively short period of its creation is making strides to bring development to the people.

It has completed 24 projects that are significantly helping to transform the lives of the people.

Mr Samuel Asiamah, District Chief Executive, told the Ghana News Agency at Kumawu in the Ashanti Region that the projects include classrooms, markets, culverts, sanitation facilities, nurses and teachers’ accommodation.

An amount of  GH¢1.6 million was spent on the projects at beneficiary communities such as Temate, Bodwease, Kumawu, Bodomase, Wonoo, Woraso, Sekyere, Oyoko, Mamprusi, Anyinofi, Abotanso, Pepease and Besoro.

He said the projects were financed from the assembly’s share of the Common Fund, District Development Fund and the Members of Parliament Ghana Education Trust Fund.

The district was carved out of the Sekyere East District, five year ago.

Mr Asiamah said there are 18 other on-going projects that are at various stages of construction.
