In the effort to boost the quality of education in the Domeabra Electoral area of the Sekyere South district, an additional 600 students in Domeabra Presby Primary and Junior High School (JHS) are currently benefiting from the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).
The expansion was in fulfillment of government’s policy to ensure free and quality education in every corner of the country.
In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com the assemblyman for the area Sarpong George indicated that the policy has presently increase the number of students to about a double of what was recorded before the implementation.
Mr. Sarpong hailed District Assembly for initiating the programme and was very hopeful that the programme will help improve the standard of education in the community. He expressed the hope that the program will also decrease the situation of school drop out in the area.
The assemblyman however appealed to government and other development partners like the Ghana Education Service (GES) to construct new school structures to match the increasing number of pupils enrolled in the school.
He noted that the old school structure has recently developed several cracks in its walls and leaks badly .
