EAST MAMPRUSI : Assembly expands local service delivery

A DANIDA supported  programme, Local Service Delivery and Governance Programme (LSDGP) which is aimed at improving
accessibility to communities in the East Mamprusi District is to be expanded to include other economic facilities like schools, clinics, markets among others.

A DANIDA supported  programme, Local Service Delivery and Governance Programme (LSDGP) which is aimed at improving
accessibility to communities in the East Mamprusi District is to be expanded to include other economic facilities like schools, clinics, markets among others.


The programme has seen spot improvement on some feeder roads, construction of foot bridges over some streames and rivers and intermediate means of transport, that is donkeys and donkey carts procured for Town and Area Councils under the programme.

The District Chief Executive for East Mamprusi, Hon. Adam Imoro, who disclosed this said GH¢190,000 has been allocated under the programme for this year.

Of this amount, GH¢170,000 is for improvement of Langbinsi-Wundua and Langbinsi to Tangbini phase 1&2, Samini junction to Samini, Langbinsi to Samini feeder roads.

The remaining GH¢20,000 is for DWD operation and capacity building.

On food security, he said, the Community-Driven Initiative for Food Security (CIFS), a CIDA sponsored programme is still in place.

In June this year, he indicated that an amount of GH¢154,500.00 has been received to implement the programme in the rest of the
communities which  did not benefit in 2007.He prject seeks to support dry season farming in four selected communities in the district including; Nalerigu, Nagbo, Namasim, Wundua.

The DCE also added that GH¢103,000.00 has been transferred to the Assembly to implement this programme.
