The District Chief Executive for East Mamprusi, Hon.Adam Imoro has expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund, describing it as not encouraging.

He attributed the situation to a number of factors, notably the over concentration on few revenue items to the neglet of many others.

"When I took office and within the short time, I noticed that a lot of revenue areas were untapped and therefore requested the registration of businesses in the district". "I aslo realised that there are only two salaried revenue collectors with the remaining being commission collectorss" he stated.

The situation he admitted has resulted in ineffective revenue collection and called on the Finance and Administration Sub-committee to strategise how the Assembly can increase local revenue mobilization.

The outcome of registration of businesses he disclosed was 470 stores distributed as follows;Nalerigu 194, Gambaga 70, Langbinsi 72, Sakogu 68, and Gbintri 66.

He proposed the way forward as conducting training for small scale businesses on efficient  business management techniques to improve their performance thereby increasing their incomes."This will in the long run enable them to meet their tax obligation without much problems", he added.
