ATEBUBU: Mahama sure of ‘one touch’ victory

He was addressing hundreds of party supporters last week at Amantin in the Atebubu-Amantin district as part of a campaign tour of the eastern parts of the Brong Ahafo region.
The President who arrived late after having visited the Pru east and west as well as the Sene east and west constituencies earlier in the day, appeared elated at the sight of the crowd who had patiently waited for him all day remarking “our victory in December will be so resounding the NPP cannot make any excuses”.
He compared the current situation to a car owner who after having been taken through half-way his journey successfully, is approached by an untested driver who opts to take the car owner on the last leg of the journey and asked the crowd if they will acquiesce to such a request.
President Mahama said a next NDC government will create Farmer Service Centers where farmers will receive support in terms of mechanization and inputs like fertilizers adding that Amantin will be one of the beneficiaries of the initiative.
He said in order to solve the age-long water problem facing Amantin, government will in the coming year sink more boreholes in the area and will also upgrade its health center into a polyclinic to ensure the people enjoy better health care.
President Mahama said from 2017 to 2021 the Youth Employment Agency YEA will recruit and train 400,000 youth in various skills and urged the youth to take advantage of it to better their lot.
The President who had earlier called on the Amantin traditional council urged all to vote for the party’s parliamentary candidate, Honorable Sanja Nanja to enable him continue his good works in Parliament.
Among the Presidents entourage were the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Alhaji Collins Dauda, the Brong Ahafo regional minister Honorable Eric Opoku and a former Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin Honorable Amadu Ali.
