So huge was the attendance that security personnel had a hectic time controlling the vociferous trumpet blowing faithful clad in the red, blue and white colors of the party.
The launch attracted party executives from various parts of the country as well as showbiz personalities like Adu Kofi (Agya Koo) and Matilda Asare.
Speaker after speaker stressed the need to kick-out the ruling NDC which they described variously as corrupt, visionless and incompetent.
They touted the party’s ‘one village one dam’ and ‘one district one factory’ promises as a feasible panacea for unemployment and ensuring food security.
The Member of Parliament for Ejura-Sekyedumasi Hon. Mohamed Salisu Bamba said his constituency has seen development because the people decided to vote for the NPP for the first time in the parliamentary election in 2012.
He said due to mismanagement, government now imports maize which has led to a market glut resulting in lower prices to the detriment of maize farmers who abound in the two districts.
Forty-eight year old businessman, Kofi Amoakohene, the parliamentary candidate for the party said he is hopeful of victory drawing inspiration from Honorable Bamba who wrestled the adjoining Ejura-Sekyedumase seat from the National Democratic Congress NDC for the first time in 2012.
He promised to bring change to the constituency which has been the preserve of the ruling NDC since the inception of the fourth republic in 1992.
Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi a former Minister for Ports, Harbors and Railways who chaired the function said free education under the NDC is a mirage because President Mahama and his ministers are just not competent enough to deliver it.
He regretted the disturbing news of some NPP people going independent and urged them to rescind their decision since they may only end up losing out in the sharing of any spoils of victory.
The Member of Parliament for Assin North Kennedy Agyepong who arrived later also addressed the gathering late into the night.
