As part of activities to create awareness for a peaceful election on December 7 2008, the Ahafo-Ano North District Election Task Force and the Tepa Local Council of Churches have organized a four hour peace walk for all the political parties in the district.

As part of activities to create awareness for a peaceful election on December 7 2008, the Ahafo-Ano North District Election Task Force and the Tepa Local Council of Churches have organized a four hour peace walk for all the political parties in the district.
    
Four political parties, namely the NPP, NDC, CPP and PNC took part in the walk, as well as the Omanhene of the Tepa Traditional Council, Nana Adusei Atwenewaa Ampem I, the District Chief Executive, Nana Eric Agyeman Prempeh and the Police Divisional Commander, Mr Mathew O. Adjei.
    
Addressing participants, the Divisional Commander, who is also the Chairman of the Electoral Task Force, commended the people for their massive turnout, especially the political parties and urged them to keep it up.
    
He said Ahafo Ano North District is a peaceful district, and asked all political leaders and their supporters to conduct their campaign peacefully devoid of insults and confrontations.
    
He also asked all political parties to submit their campaign programmes to the Election Task Force to enable them to monitor their activities to avoid confrontations and other incidences.
    
All the four political parties pledged to conduct their campaign peacefully, since their opponent were not enemies.
