A Magistrate’s court at Mankranso in the Ahafo-Ano South District, has imposed a fine of 200 Ghana cedis on a 29-year-old driver for careless driving resulting in an accident at Beposo, a suburb of Mankranso.
    
Karikari Agyemang who pleaded guilty will go to prison for 24 months in default.
   
Police Inspector Abraham Agyei Mensah, told the court presided over by Mr. Frank Owusu Afriyie, that on November 7, 2005, the accused was driving a commercial Isuzu Bus from Tepa to Kumasi.
    
He said, the accused was driving at top speed and when he got to a barrier at Beposo the vehicle veered off the road and ran into a ditch.
    
Prosecution said some of the passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi.
