About eighty traders who were affected by this exercise have sent a strong warning to the District Chief Executive to as a matter of urgency come to the discussion table to determine the amount of compensation due them after losing over twenty million Ghana cedis to the exercise.

This appeal was unanimously made by the traders numbering about eighty in their maiden meeting held last Tuesday after the demolition of the same two Hector size land at midnight of last Friday to discuss the way forward as they have lost valuables close to twenty billion Ghana cedis.

Narrating what really happened to Ghanadistricts.com, one of the traders revealed that "I had a call about the demolition, I then moved to the market at about 3:30 am only to see the bulldozer busily destroying our container in the presence of heavily armed Police officers, a number of taskforces, three pickup cars belonging to the Shai Osudoku District Assembly. I had to hide to be able to take pictures because of fear. My question is if the activity is having a legal backing why will they do it at that time of the night? Moreover does the assembly work on Saturdays?", a man who claims to sell millet among other grains has quizzed.

It is gathered that the assembly did not approach the traders with any notification to remove their containers apart from a post posted on their containers which reads "remove container by a certain date without a name of the person issuing the notice nor a signature so we started removing our containers until we went for a general meeting at the order side of the market and someone asked about the project they were talking about then the Assemblywoman answered that she has been going to meetings with the assembly, chiefs, and others and they say the case has been given to the chiefs to investigate at the lands so until then we should wait but we did not hear anything till that Saturday Dawn".

It is noted the assembly through one Aunty Abena has not ceased collecting monies from the market women, they claim to have been paying an amount of Ghc50.00 for allocation of shed as she has again been given some of the lands to traders to sell at the cost of Ghc 500.00 in the name of the Assembly" he revealed.

Kenneth Adjartey Aperkor, one of the landlords who were present during the demolition revealed how he was treated by the armed police officers as he was trying to stop them from the illegal activities in an attempt to protect the property of his tenants to the extent that the inspector used the police shocker on him.
