KINTAMPO: Farmers receive cashew seedlings to promote PERD

Kintampo Municipal Assembly Department of Agric has again given out over thousands of cashew seedling to farmers in the Municipality.

Farmers counting over two hundred (200) of them would receive five (5) hectors each of cashew seedling to be planted at their farms after a short handing over ceremony held at the premises of the department of Agric in the Kintampo Municipality.

The Director of the department of Agric in the Municipality, Mr. Simon Yambon in his address stated that this was the third edition of cashew seedlings being given to farmers in the Municipality under the president's special initiative planting for Export and Rural Development.

He also stated that each farmer would be given cashew seedlings which will be planted on five (5) hectors each. He edged the farmers to take care of the seedlings which would be giving to them for the government good initiative not to run at a loss but give the improvement in the lives.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo Municipal Assembly Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe was happy by the number of farmers ready to engage themselves in this social intervention initiative of the President.

Mr. Sarkodie added that all the social intervention by the President of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo thus not consider any body’s political background so all should get involved in it to give them jobs and better their livelihood.

He then pleaded on the farmers to give the Nana Addo’s government and himself the nod in the coming election.
