Kintampo Agric Dep’t organizes workshop for farmers
The Kintampo Municipal Department of Agriculture has held a day workshop for farmers and stakeholders in the Bono East Region.

The workshop brought together various farming groups in the municipality and the region as a whole to educate and sensitize them on the need to form cooperative society groups to enable them receive necessary support from the central government and other private entities.
The meeting was also aimed at ensuring that farmers have reliable market supply as part of efforts to help reduce poverty but rather enhance growth and development.
It is also expected to help curb the issues pricing between farmers and buyers.
Speaking at the workshop, the Municipal Director of Agriculture, Mr. Simon Yambor, lauded the initiative, which he said, will end the numerous confrontations between famers in the region and market women.
He added that the programme was also going to promote good business partnership in the agriculture sector in the Municipality and Ghana at large.
Madam Cecilia Kegah Agimah, the Bono East Regional Director for Agriculture, advised all invited groups to join the cooperative groups to help in the business partnership and market linkage in order to eliminate post-harvest losses.
She added that “that is the reason why all groups such as transport groups, processes, farmers, sellers, Cooperative officers, Ghana Commodity Exchange officers and other stakeholders are invited.”
Mr. Marfo, the Bono East Regional Extension Officer and Mr. Kontomah, the Bono East Crop Officer, took their time to explain to the groups the importance of this initiative, adding that it will make them more organized to seek support.
