ADANSI N: DCE cuts sod for teachers’ quarters for Kusa

Authorities in the Adansi North District in the Ashanti have initiated a move to addressing a major hindrance to the improvement of academic performance of students in the Kusa community.

According to the District Chief Executive, Mr Eric Kwaku Kusi about ninety percent of teachers resides outsides the Kusa Community, thus affecting not only their punctuality but regular presence  in the school to have quality time with the children.

 

 

This has compelled the assembly to initiate the construction of three bedroom teachers’ quarters for the community to accommodate some of the teachers in the community.

 

At the sod cutting ceremony to kit start the project which is being funded from the District Assembly Common Fund, (DACF), the DCE reassured the people of the assembly’s commitment to see improvement in education in the district.

 

 

He emphasized the need to pay attention to human resource development and urged all and sundry to play their part in ensuring success in the education sector.

 

The District Education Director, Mr. Paul Antwi Oppong was enthused by the move by the Assembly.

 

 

Other important personalities who graced the sod cutting were Nana Yamoah Ponkor II Krontihene of Kusa, Nana Ofori Kumah I, Akomuhene of Kusa,   Nana Kwarteng Kwartemaa Kanin II, kusa Queen Mother,  Mr Opare Annor Daniel, head teacher  Kusa D/A JHS, Hon Kwaku Obeng  Assemblyman for  Ampedwee Electoral Area, Dompoase and also works subcommittee chairman.

 

Others officers from the Assembly were; Mr Sarfo Emmanuel deputy district planning officer, Mr Dauglas Koomson   the district   works engineer.
