Akuapem North ready for “Free SHS”

Heads of various second cycle institutions in Akuapem North Municipality have had a round table discussion to deliberate on how best to ensure a smooth take- off of the “Free Senior High School (SHS)” policy by the government.

They include heads of Okuapeman School, Benkum, Nifa SHS, Mount Sinai, Adukrom Presby SHS, Mampong Sect deaf, and Larteh Presby Secondary / Technical.

During the deliberation, The Municipal Chef Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr. Dennis Aboagye briefed the various heads about government’s readiness provide the schools and pupils with adequate infrastructure, feeding uniforms, books to complement the policy.

He commended the various school heads for their relentless support for the programme and appealed to them to continue with their support to ensure that education becomes completely free for all eligible Ghanaians.

The headmasters, on their part, assured the MCE of their preparedness and assured him of their full cooperation to ensure that the programme is fully realized.

The Headmasters expressed their excitement about the policy and praised the government for such a laudable idea to relieve the burden on parent and also promised not to let the government down but ensure the policy works.
