SEKYERE E: DCE urges communities to initiate self-help projects

The District Chief Executive of Sekyere East, Madam Mary Boatemaa Marfo has embarked on a tour of six communities in the district to interact with chiefs and people to acquaint herself of their needs and problems facing them.

The communities she visited are; Ahensen, Anunuso, Akokoaso, Naama, Odurokurom and Oguaa.

The DCE encouraged the communities during separate meetings to initiative self-help project to boost development in their communities. According to her, such initiatives would attract supports from the assembly for early completion. 

She also inidicated that there are limited resources that has to be evenly distributed among all communities hence efforts from self-help projects would ensure as many communities as possible get their share based on their priorities.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, the DCE stated that, the district Assembly is repairing its grader to enable the Assembly reshape some of the roads which need urgent attention.

At Akokoaso, the chief and people appealed to the Assembly, and to the sector Ministry to reshape the road. They stated that the present deplorable shape of the road was hampering economic activities in the area.

They said it was especially bad for farmers, as they were finding it difficult to transport their farm produce to marketing centers.
