At a meeting with some executives of the Upper Weija Residents' Association at the MCE's office,Mr. Sam Ofori, spokesperson for the groupappealed to the MCE to come to their aid as soon as possible. He said the recent rain has washed off a portion of the road which has created a big gully.
Mr.Ofori said the situation is so dire that vehicles cannot assess the road, thus commuters have to walk either to the Weija or Djanman stations to board vehicles. This, he said, is causing a lot of inconvenience to residents. He also asked for a refuse bin for the community.
Mr.Kumor assured them of the Assembly's readiness to assist them.He said the roads engineer would be tasked immediately to stabilize the situation.
On the issue of a refuse container the MCE said households are being encouraged to acquire refuse bins for themselves.
The Assembly Member for Weija,Mr.Wilfred Ayitey Blankson, thanked the MCE for reception and swift response.
