DCE commissions electrification project for three communities

Mr Mustapha Mahama, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Central Gonja District, on Monday commissioned electrification projects for the Lito, Nwampe and Old Buipe communities in the Old Buipe Electoral Area.

Mr Mahama addressing the beneficiary communities said the Assembly was committed to developing and improving the socio economic wellbeing of the people.

He said the government was also committed to getting 83 other communities in the District connected to the national grid so
as to improve the economic activities for enhanced living conditions of the people.

He said, work is ongoing on Chama, Tulewe and Adape lines whiles feasibility studies and mapping are ongoing at  Nyantan, Dabope, Yala and Seidupe, Digma, Baladaga, Zoawu, Bonyagasei, Kpechleve, Aboasei, Gbagbanto, Salimbona, Bagpe and many others.

He, however, cautioned residents to use the electricity judiciously and cautiously, saying, "even though electricity is good for community development as well as individual socio economic development, it can also be very dangerous to mankind if not properly handled and for that matter you should always take precautionary measures to avert any
misfortune.

I urge you to employ the services of professional electricians when you have problems with power in your houses, the unprofessional electricians will cause you more harm than good.

Mr Mahama also presented street light lamps to the three communities for installation.

The Chiefs and people of the Old Buipe Electoral Area through the Assembly Member, Mr Wone, expressed their gratitude to the DCE and President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo's Government, for the tireless efforts in ensuring that they also receive their fair share of the national cake.

They promised to take precautionary measures in using the electricity and assured of conserving energy as advised by the DCE.
