Gov’t Committed To Infrastructural Development in Central Gonja—-DCE

The District Chief Executive for the Central Gonja District, Mr. Mustapha Mahama has assured resident’s government’s determination to improve the infrastructure situation in the area, especially the Kusawgu traditional zone.

Addressing Chiefs and people of the Kusawgu tradition area during a community engagement, He noted that governance is a continuous process, thus that projects in the area which begun in the previous administration including the Kusawgu-Tulewe road would be accomplished by the Akoffo Addo led government.

He said though little was done on those projects, the current administration is committed to execute them very soon.

The chief executive touching on the One Village, One Dam flagship programme, he said ten Dams was allocated to the district, and all have been awarded to contractors to start work.

“On the One District, One Factory (1D1F) policy initiative, the Central Gonja have identified not less than two factories and work have begun steadily with some consultants, investors and financial institutions to fast track the development and was hopefully before the end of 2019 factories would be physically seen as all the negotiations and software aspect of construction have been discussed and approval given by the Ministry of Trade and Industry”.

Hon Mustapha revealed that the area water challenge is gradually getting the needed solution due to the number of boreholes that have been drilled to tackle the challenge. He enumerated that plans are far advance to extend the Fulfuso-Ntereso water plant to Buipe, Yapei, Kusawgu and its surroundings communities.

The DCE also mentioned employment drive in the district. According to him, seventy five permanent Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff have been employed in the district to boost teaching and learning in the education sector of the district.

He said under the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) programme, 350 trainees have been recruited and posted to the district to assist in the Digitised Ghana, Heal Ghana, Educate Ghana, Civic Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Feed Ghana and Enterprise Ghana modules.

Hon Mustapha further urged the youth to wake up from their slumber, and get themselves engage since the Akuffo Addo government has created an enabling environment for business and the educational sector to strive.

Kusawgu-Wura Sulemana Ewuntogmah Kunkariga, the Paramount Chief of the Kusawgu Traditional Area on behalf of his Elders and Subjects assured government and for that matter the DCE of their commitment to collaborate with government and the assembly to bring development to the doorsteps of the people.
