ASUOGYAMAN: Gov’t committed to ensuring quality healthcare -DCE
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asuogyaman, Mr Samuel Kwame Agyekum has indicated that the government is still committed to ensuring that quality healthcare is made accessible to all Ghanaian citizenry.

He said, in view of this, the Assembly is eager to complete all ongoing projects, expand health promotion programmes, invest in disease prevention strategies and enhance access to curative and emergency services in the area.
He said government is on the verge of recruiting more health workers under the Youth Employment Authority (YEA) to provide health education to the various communities, adding that more youth will also be engaged under the Youth in Sanitation module of the YEA to augment the efforts of waste management companies such as Zoom Lion.
Mr Agyekum made this known during the launch of the Preventive Health Clinic at Akosombo, a community in the District capital.
He noted that preventive healthcare was one of the most efficient areas of maintaining good health by ensuring frequent health screening for illness at their early stages before they become serious complications.
According to him, the government spends huge sums of money to import medicine into the country to treat some ailment which could be avoided if attention is given to the prevention aspect of our health delivery system.
The DCE, In view of this, called on various stakeholders to become enlightened about the essence of preventive health in order to lessen the burden on government.
