Enrolled herbal medication on NHIS- GAFRAM to government
The government through the Ministry of Health has been urged not to hesitate in setting up a discussion to enroll herbal medications on the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable patients to patronise the herbal clinics and centers for their undisputable treatment without any side effects.

This appeal was made by the Volta Regional Treasurer of the Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine (GAFRAM) Mrs Alberta Asare who was the Chairperson during the official launching of Adehye Herbal Clinic at Anum last Monday.
She indicated that patients find it difficult to attend herbal health facilities due to the cost involved. "I must admit that the cost of herbal treatment and its medication is relatively high and this is because of the cost involved in producing and testing the medicine by the mandatory bodies responsible as their charges are also very high".
She advised that the only way out is for government to subsidize the charges at the Center for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine, Noguchi and the Food and Drugs Authority and also do it's best to enroll the herbal treatment on the National Health Insurance Scheme as it is done to the orthodox medications and treatment.
Mrs. Alberta Asare who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the famous Albertisam Herbal Center in Ho which has been in existence for years now emphatically applaud the government for accepting to attach a herbal treatment department to the hospitals in the country who will administer herbal medicine on patients condition is above orthodox medications than allowing them to go home to face their fate, mentioning the Volta Regional hospital as the few who has started the initiative.
Classifying it as a good move appeal to the Ministry of Health as a matter of urgency see to it that every hospital in the country is attached with a medical herbalist to help save the precious lives of the ordinary Ghanaian. She later advised Ghanaian to look out for the registration code from food and drugs Authority on each herbal product that comes their way before patronage.
On his part the Chief Executive of Adehye Herbal clinic who is also the Adontenghene and the acting president of Anum Traditional Council Okogyeaman Kwasi Anyane V appealed to Nana Akufo Addo not to forget about the essence of herbal treatment as he works harder to fulfill it's one district on the factory by establishing at least twenty herbal factories nationwide to help in the production of the medicine, he also advocated for proper education on the requirements on producing medicine in the country and also do a routine monitoring.
According to Nana Kwasi Anyane Adehye Herbal products have been in existence for over thirty years now with positive recommendation believing that residence of Anum-Boso and it's surrounding Communities will adopt and own the facility as it's core mandate is to cure diseases using herbs.
