The campaign, held under the theme “Men and Women as Partners in Cervical Cancer Prevention: Creating Awareness for Screening, Vaccination, and Treatment,” aims to significantly reduce cervical cancer cases through collective action to curb the spread of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), the leading cause of the disease.
Speaking at the event, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Charles Kofi Obgeh, called on hospital management to strengthen support for cervical cancer screening initiatives and to intensify efforts to encourage more women to undergo regular checks.

He also appealed to parents to ensure that their daughters between the ages of 9 and 14 receive the HPV vaccine, describing vaccination as a critical step in preventing cervical cancer.
The campaign seeks to promote early detection, increase vaccination coverage and foster shared responsibility among men and women in the fight against cervical cancer within the district and beyond.
