Under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive, John Atteh Matey, the Assembly on Thursday, May 14, 2026, presented 600 chairs and 100 hexagonal tables for Kindergarten classrooms, alongside 400 dual desks for primary schools within the municipality.
The intervention forms part of the Assembly’s broader commitment to enhancing the teaching and learning environment and promoting quality education delivery across all levels of basic education.
The latest distribution marks the second batch of furniture support provided to schools within the same week, following an earlier presentation of 500 mono desks to the Ghana Education Service Directorate for distribution to Junior High Schools in the municipality.
Education stakeholders have described the intervention as timely, noting that the furniture will help address classroom congestion, improve pupil comfort, and create a more conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Hon. John Atteh Matey reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting education and improving school infrastructure to ensure better learning outcomes for children across the municipality.
Teachers, school authorities, and community members expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the continued support, describing the initiative as a major boost to education development in Lower Manya Krobo.
