Addressing the Assembly, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Sinkina Saaka, presented the state of the District and outlined progress made in implementing development programmes. He also led members to observe a minute's silence in memory of the late Assembly Member for the Gbiniyiri Electoral Area, Hon. Dari Francis, who tragically lost his life in a motor accident while on official duty.

Hon. Saaka congratulated the Presiding Member on his re-election, describing it as a clear vote of confidence in his leadership. He commended initiatives introduced under the Presiding Member's leadership to strengthen the Assembly, including measures to preserve institutional memory and enhance its administrative identity.

The DCE also lauded the Presiding Member for supporting healthcare delivery through the donation of a multipurpose medical machine to the Sawla District Hospital and for his continued advocacy for the welfare of Assembly Members.

Reaffirming the Assembly's commitment to development, Hon. Saaka assured members that efforts to implement projects in the areas of education, health, water and sanitation, agriculture, roads, and electricity would continue despite prevailing financial constraints. He expressed confidence that government interventions under the Resetting Agenda would further accelerate development and improve the living conditions of residents across the District.

The meeting also paved the way for the election of a Presiding Member, with the DCE urging members to conduct the process peacefully and in a spirit of unity to promote the continued progress of the Assembly.
