The completion of the projects include the main administration block of the Municipal Assembly, reconstruction of a lorry park, the central market square, classroom blocks and health facilities.
Dr Stanislaus Kadingdi, the Municipal Chief Executive for Navrongo, told the GNA in an interview that these projects were abandoned as a result of the unavailability of funds and poor supervision and monitoring of contractors executing them.
He said the major project which the assembly was focused on was to complete the eight-year-old multi-purpose Assemblys administration block to accommodate all the decentralized departments in the Municipality, adding that part of the District Assemblies Common Fund would be used in financing these projects.
Dr Kadingdi said the Assembly was funding a six-classroom block in the Dumbasinia community in the municipality through the District Development Fund (DDF), as part of efforts to promote quality education in the area.
Dr Kadingdi said health care was priority to government and so the Assembly had earmarked some health facilities including the Kologo Health Center for renovation.
He said the Assembly was collaborating with the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) to build staff accommodation for workers in the area and called on the people to support the Assembly execute its development programmes.
Dr Kadingdi told residents to avoid fruitless and unnecessary criticisms that would retard the development of the area and gave the assurance that the Assembly was committed to develop the area.
