Kintampo N: 48 years old Adu Daniel adjudged municipal best farmer
48 year old Adu Daniel has been adjudged the municipal best farmer for the Kintampo North Municipality in the Bono East Region.

This year’s is under the theme: “Ensuring Agriculture Development under Covid-19: Challenges and Opportunities”.
Speaking at this year’s colorful event, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kintampo North, Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe expressed his appreciation to the Akufo-Addo led government for working tirelessly to transform the Agriculture sector through the introduction of its Flagship Programmes like the one village, one dam, planting for food and jobs among others.
He added that, under this government, many officers have been recruited and provided with motorbikes to carry out their duties, and that more than five hundred thousand bags of subsidized fertilizers, cash seedings and other logistics have been distributed to farmers since 2017.
“Despite the severe impact of this global pandemic (COVID-19), the NPP government, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo invested massively in the agriculture sector and this municipality is no exception”, he said.
He also revealed that, the municipality took delivery of new tractor and implements which was deployed to support farmers in the municipality.
He then encouraged all farmers to continue to take advantage of the congenial economic environment created by the NPP government to add value to their produce to create wealth and jobs in the Kintampo Municipality.
He concluded the MCE used the platform to canvass for vote as the parliamentary candidate and the ruling NPP government.
The Chief of Gulumpe, Nana Tempiredu Adam Fieye congratulated all framers especially, the awards winners for their selfless efforts to feed the country and also used the occasion to call for a peaceful election during and after the December 7th elections.
The Municipal Director of Agric Mr. Simon Yambor in his welcome address, lamented how recent Covid-19 outbreak had posed some challenges in the agriculture value chain, but added that farmers did their best to overcome the pandemic.
Mr. Yambor added that the department also made some achievements during Covid-19 pandemic. He noted that about 62,912 (47065 males and 15,847 females) were enrolled under the planting for food and jobs.
Under PERD, 907 farmers received 101,920 cashew seeding’s free of charge from KiMA – MEEDA Partnership through it was a challenging moment under coivd-19, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) force for supply.
