Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District benefits from 195 projects

The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District in the Northern Region has for the past few years benefited from a total of 195 development projects.

The projects cover areas such as health, education, agriculture, road

infrastructure, potable water and economic empowerment projects and have helped

boost development in the district.

 

Alhaji Isaac Mumuni Dramani, the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Chief Executive, said this

when he inspected some auxiliary projects of the huge Sawla/Damango road project.

 

As part of the road project all communities along the road are to be provided with

education, health and sanitation facilities.

 

At Jantilpe, the DCE inspected a classroom block, one bungalow and one

semi-detached teachers quarters, a health center including nurses quarters, a

borehole, and 10-Seater and 6-Seater KVIP facilities for the community and

school respectively.

 

He said each of the health facilities would be provided with solar light as well

as GH¢ 80,000.00 worth of hospital equipment including ultrasound scanning machines.

 

Alhaji Dramani who inspected similar facilities at Nasoyiri said through the project,

a modern lorry park and market were constructed at Sawla.

 

Also five bungalows for a doctor and five other staff of the Sawla Polyclinic have

been constructed, borehole for the health center and GH¢150,000.00 worth of hospital equipment has been provided.

 

He said an axle weigh bridge was yet to be constructed at Sawla through the

project.

 

Alhaji Dramani thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the huge road project, saying

through the project communities along the road had most of their development

needs addressed.
