SAWLA T K: Assembly to extend electricity to more communities

District Chief Executive for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Lonsina Barikisu has underscored the importance of electricity to the socio-economic development of the people and assured that efforts are being made to connect communities without light to the national electricity grid.

The DCE who was speaking at the first Ordinary meeting of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly held on Monday July 4th, 2022 at the District Assembly Conference Hall said “the Assembly has intention of extending electricity to some remote villages currently without lights.”

Among these communities the DCE said include Digzie, Grunyiri, Nakpala 1 & 2, Gbiniyiri, and Ceekura.

She delightedly announced that with support of the Assembly, an NGO has extended lights to Gilinkon which has been commissioned and in use.
