NJSMA holds second ordinary meeting

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has held its 2nd Ordinary Meeting of the 3rd Session of the Second Assembly to deliberate on developmental projects and other recommendations from the executive committee and other sub-committee meetings of the Assembly.

The Presiding Member, Rapchar Botchway in his earlier statement commended the technocrats for their efforts in maintaining peace in the Assembly.

Mr. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, the Municipal Chief Executive, in his address took the opportunity to expound the activities done so far under his watch.

Mr. Appaw-Gyasi made it known that, the Assembly in the period of September and October embarked on community engagement to sensitize the residents on the need to pay taxes to the Assembly.


This, he implored, the residents living around the boundary areas to pay their property rates to New Juaben South Assembly but not to other neighboring Assemblies for rapid development.

Again, to improve the socio-economic development in the municipality, the MCE declared that the Assembly was able to commission some projects to support the needs of the people and the municipality at large.

He mentioned a six (6)-Units Classroom block with Ancillary at Ellen White S.D.A Basic School, Concrete footbridges at Adweso, Abogiri and Zongo respectively.


He further mentioned some ongoing projects which are expected to augment educational facilities within the Municipality. He mentioned 2-Units KG Block with ancillary each at Trinity Model School and Nana Kwaku Boateng School “A”.

Mr. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi said the Assembly has released funds to the Municipal Urban Roads Department to embark on maintenance works such as potholes patching and grading of the roads in the municipality.

He added that, plans are far advance for the government to construct a dual carriage road from Peduase to Koforidua in the first quarter of 2023, of which affected Districts and Municipalities will benefit from extra 15km of road construction.
