MCE monitors ongoing WASSCE in municipality

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), for the Ga East Municipal Assembly (GEMA) Abokobi, Janet Tulasi Mensah, has visited the Kwabenya Community Senior High School to inspect and monitor the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The Kwabenya SHS centre is hosting three (3) other schools, all private, in the ongoing exams with a total of 414 candidates; 204 boys and 210 girls, registered and sitting.

On Monday when the Hon MCE, accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) Mr. Matthew Tay, and the Municipal Director of Education (MDE), Mrs. Faustina Alimatu Braimah, visited the school, the candidates were writing Core Mathematics.


They were received and conducted round the centres by the Headmistress of the School, Madam Rahinatu Salifu to monitor the progress of the exams.

The Hon MCE and her team also inspected the COVID-19 safety items provided by the government which were visibly in use at the time of the visit and interacted with interacted with the exams officials.


Hon. Janet Tulasi Mensah encouraged the officials to be vigilant and ensure the candidates write the papers in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The Public Relations Officers (PROs) for the Municipal Assembly and Education Directorate, Okunyin Boaz Orlan-Hackman and Seth Anyormi, were part of the Hon. MCE's monitoring team.


The exercise formed part of the Municipal Education Directorate's routine inspection and monitoring activities for the conduct of the WASSCE in the municipality.
