She made this remark at the 25th Founders' Day celebration of the Sensels School in Taifa on Thursday, 6th October, 2022.
Sensels School is one of the over 200 private basic schools in the Ga East Municipality and has, over the past two decades, delivered quality education to residents of Taifa and beyond.
The 25th Founders' Day, also used to raise awareness on breast cancer and its impact on the economy, was under the theme, "25 Years of Quality Education, Our Shared Responsibility".
The Municipal Chief Executive, Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, who was the Guest of Honour, in a speech read on her behalf by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Kungi, remarked that the contribution of the private section in the provision of quality education cannot be quantified.
She intimated that their role is crucial to advancement of the country and the realization of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs), Goal Four (4) which enjoins all nations to "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all".
The MCE indicated that governments, since independence, have done a lot to provide quality accessible education for the citizenry with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo taking it a notch higher with the introduction of the Free Senior High School Educational Policy, which has seen massive enrollment of students.
She said though government was doing its possible best, the provision of education should be seen as a shared responsibility.
She observed that since the establishment of the Sensels School, it has offered opportunities for many and helped to advance and enhance quality education in the Municipality and commended them for the height attained.
She assured them of the Assembly's readiness to provide any technical support within its remit to ensure the sustenance of the school to serve the educational needs of the people, particularly those within its catchment area.
The Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Jesse Nii Noi Anum, was among the dignitaries who graced the occasion.
