WGMA dredges Korkordjor before Onset of rains

The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly has started the dredging of the Korkordjor river in the New Weija East Electoral Area.

The dredging works,which began over a month ago, started from downstream Aplaku in the Ga South municipality.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, during a tour of flooded areas in the New Weija East Electoral Area last year, promised to take steps to stop the unfortunate situations.

Together with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Mr Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, on Tuesday, 9th February 2021, visited the dredging site to see the extent of work done so far.

The works foreman promised to complete the dredging works in a couple of weeks, baring any unforeseen issues.

The Member of Parliament was happy with the work being done at this time.

She commended the workers for the good job been done.

Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE), encouraged the workers to do all in their power to complete on time.

When completed, the perennial flooding in the New Weija East Electoral Area during downpours would be curtailed.
