WGMA Holds First General Assembly Meeting in 2021
The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly has held its First Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of the Fourth Assembly on Tuesday and Wednesday, 30th and 31st March 2021.

Mainly called the 'General Assembly', the meeting, held at the Institute of Technical Studies (ITS), reflected on the Assembly's activities, the state of the municipality and adopted resolutions for the next quarter/year.
The session was chaired by the Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Oduro Ampaw.
In attendance were the Assembly Members from all the fourteen (14) electoral areas, the Government Appointees and heads of departments led by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs. Mercy Quansah Ogoe.
Delivering his sessional address, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, said he was happy to be back to the house to discharge a duty in accordance with the Local Government Act, 2016, (Act 36).
Hon. Kumor (MCE) was particularly happy due to the unprecedented developments in his first term.
He, also, mentioned the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah for her efforts in catapulting the municipality/constituency.
The MCE was full of praise for the President, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, for his vision and unflinching support for the municipality.
The newly sworn in zonal council members were welcomed and tasked to put in their best to achieve results desired by all.
The address touched on the Assembly's policy initiatives, motivation towards promoting socio-economic development and recommendations from the Executive Committee (EXECO).
Issues on Health, especially an update on the COVID-19 cases and the Astrazeneca vaccine, Education, Agriculture, Security and Disaster preparedness.
Other issues were Sanitation, Social Interventions and Finance.
Infrastructure, completed, ongoing and new projects, took a chunk of the address.
Hon. Patrick Kumor(MCE), in conclusion, reaffirmed his commitment to the fulfillment of his vision as the President's representative in the municipality.
The General Assembly later adopted the recommendations of the sub-committees to be used as working documents.
