Kadjebi Assembly holds community engagement

As part of efforts to ensure effective development and also present its plan and programmes for the year, the Kadjebi District Assembly in the Oti region has organized a community engagement for residents of Asato, a community in the district.

Interacting with the residents, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr. Agbanyo Wilson stressed on the high indiscipline among motor riders in the district, adding that many lives have been lost from this awful behavior of motor riders in the district.

He indicated that, the assembly will soon partner security personnel in the district to clampdown these recalcitrant riders.


On education, Mr. Agbanyo opened up on the falling standard of education in the district, and warned of its consequences. He urged parents to take the education of their children seriously to help raise the standard.

The DCE noted that stakeholders meeting would be held to bring all the stakeholders in education on board to brainstorm on the way forward and also hinted that rigorous monitoring and supervision would be undertaken to curtail teacher truancies, lateness, laziness adding that parents are guilty of the truancy of their wards in schools.


On his part, the District Police Commander complained about the high cases of accident in the district and attributed it to the high indiscipline among motor riders.


He cautioned the youth against drugs and other social vices or face the wrath of the law.
