The training programme touched on the roles and responsibilities of Assembly Members, Local Economic Development, Model Standing Orders, among others.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Moses Jotie, entreated Assembly Members to embrace the training, as it is as important as a Manual is to a Television Set.

He also entreated them to resist the temptation of promising the execution of Projects, without recourse to the Assembly's Plan and Budget as well as a governance structure.

A Deputy Director of the Institute of Local Government Studies, Mr Kambootah Richard, entreated participants to participate actively as there was always something new to learn from Ghana's evolving decentralization agenda.

Attends speaking through the Presiding Member, Hon Dr Ewurah Suleman K. Mahama underscored the importance of the programme, and stated that they were poised to effectively serve their people.
