Mr John B. Ninson, the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) making the presentation, said the donation was in response to appeal made by the leaders of the Welders Association in the Municipality.

He said it also formed part of the Assembly's corporate responsibility to the people living in the area and to further show commitment to helping the citizens of the area.

Mr Ninson said the gesture fell in line with the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) manifesto, to encourage and equip artisans to sustain and improve their work for them to train others to become self-employed.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and that the Assembly was committed to put in place initiatives to improve the living conditions of the people in the Municipality.

The MCE asked the youth to learn vocations rather than migrating to the urban centres to seek for non-existing jobs.

Mr Augustine Ebo Nunoo, the Chairman of Garages Association in Effutuman, expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the support to the welders.

He called on the Assembly to continue to support artisans in their work to enable them to train the youth.
