Leadership of ActionAid, SONGTABA visits Nanumba South District

ActionAid Country Director, Mr. Abdallah Sumaila, accompanied by the Regional Director of SONGTABA; an NGO, Hajjia Lamnatu and some staff paid a familiarization visit to the Nanumba South District Assembly to among others congratulate the DCE on his ascension to the office.

They also took the opportunity to ascertain the progress of work and level of cooperation between his staff operating in the district and the District Assembly.

He acknowledged the long standing good relationship and collaboration between the Assembly and his outfit in the areas of education, agriculture and social services especially in support of the alleged witches at Kukuo.

He was particularly concerned about the reported withdrawal of many of the alleged witches from the LEAP program. He appealed to the DCE to put in measures as he joins hands with him to ensure the return of the people to the LEAP program.

The DCE on his part and on behalf of the Assembly thanked the director and his team for the visit and assured him of unflinching support of the Assembly in their subsequent transactions for the benefit of the people.

He informed the director that in collaboration with the leadership of SONGTABS, he has stepped in to ensure the reversal of the withdrawn LEAP beneficiaries at the Kukuo camp.

In acknowledging the contributions of Action Aid in the development of the District so far, the Hon. DCE on behalf of the Assembly presented a smock, a ramp and an undisclosed number of tuber of yams to the Director and his powerful entourage.
