Nkonya Ntumda Citizens Association (NCA) marks 25th Anniversary

The District Chief Executive for Biakoye, Millicent Kabuki Carboo joined the chiefs and people of Nkonya Ntumda to mark the 25th Anniversary and Fundraising ceremony of the Nkonya Ntumda Citizens Association (NCA) at a grand durbar at Nkonya Ntumda.

The president of the association Mr. Justice Gershon Sronipah in his anniversary speech gave brief history, objectives, past chair persons and achievements of the association.
He entreated all gathered, friends, benevolent, groups to support them either by cash or by kind to raise funds to meet the estimates of projects at hand.

He also took the opportunity to announce the major project currently ongoing which is a thirty (30) seater ultra-modern community toilet project.

The chief of Nkonya Ntumda, Nanai Osiakwan II in his welcome speech thanked all for coming to grace the occasion of the 25th Anniversary. He asked for peaceful coexistence among all and sundry.

DCE of Biakoye District Madam Millicent Kabuki Carboo in turn extended pleasantries from the Oti Regional Minister, Joshua Makubu.

Speaking on the theme for the 25th Anniversary, ‘Promoting Development Through Unity, the NCA Way’ the DCE said development cannot take place in an area associated with disunity within the society and between its neighboring societies.

The DCE opined that the Biakoye District Assembly remains grateful to the Ntumda Citizens Association for its tremendous efforts at solving some of the challenges that confronts the community. She commended the Association for executing some projects within its 25-years of existence.

The Chief Executive explained that the District Assembly in tandem with its mandate to guarantee Local Economic Development is taking steps to get investors to develop some tourist sites in the district including Konklobi Island and Beach Front Development at Nkonya Adzamansu and Nyampodudu Cave Rock Shrine at Nkonya Ntumda.
The DCE of Biakoye District also canvassed for the establishment of a Cage Culture System of Aquaculture given the environmental resource that the community is endowed with.

She sounded a clarion call to our resourceful brethren both in Ghana and in the Diaspora to invest in aquaculture to create job opportunities for the teeming youth and thus further promote Local Economic Development.

According to her, three boreholes have been sunk for the Adzamansu community.
Madam Millicent Carboo, gave a donation to support the fundraising program of the Association. In return, the leaders showered appreciation and asked for God's overflowing blessings upon the DCE and the District Assembly.
Present were Nananom from Nkonya Wurupong and other areas.

Nkonya Tayi
In another development, the DCE continued to Nkonya Tayi in honour of a Fundraising activity by the good people of Nkonya Tayi.
The fundraising was in aid of developing a Park for Sporting Activities.

The DCE in addressing Nananom and the people of Tayi said, sports is one of the areas that most communities do not commit money to and that this single vision of the people of Tayi, was worthy of recommendation.

Madam Carboo showered praises on them and said again that she will like to see champions of the various sports disciplines being raised from Nkonya Tayi and Nkonya Tayi becoming the sports hub of the district. As noted of her, she didn't leave without donating to the worthy course of the people of Nkonya Tayi.
