In all, about 174 pets (cats and dogs) were vaccinated in an exercise which took place in five communities namely; Bonkrong, Ankamadoa, Amoamang, Kyebi and Atonsu.
The Veterinary Medical team underscored the importance of the exercise, adding that it was aimed at preventing the spread of rabies and pets related diseases in the beneficiary communities and the country as a whole.
They appealed to the general public, especially people with pets to take very good care of them insisting that they should feed and give them water and occasionally take them to the veterinary clinics for health screening.
The campaign against rabies ended with the distribution of 500 pieces of exercise books to 10 schools in the District.
