MCE commissions 6-seater toilet facility

In commemoration of the world NTDs elimination day, the Municipal Chief Executive for Akwapim North, Barima Awuah Sarpong Asiedu-Larbi has commissioned a six-seater toilet facility which was sponsored by ANESVAD through an NGO called WATER.

In a phone interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Asiedu Larbi, took the opportunity to educate the people on the need to live in a clean environment and live healthy to eliminate the Neglected Tropical Diseases.

The MCE explained what NTDs, which is “Neglected tropical diseases are a diverse group of conditions1 caused by a variety of pathogens (including viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi and toxins) and associated with devastating health, social and economic consequences' '.

The organization repaired four existing boreholes that were faulty but constructed by the Municipal Assembly.

He further explained that the Government is self-assured to eliminate all the NTDs in our communities hence the home to home sensitization by our community health nurses.

Nananom of the community thanked the Assembly for the facility and requested that the community is expanding so more of such facilities will still be needed in the town. They also promised to take good care of the facility.
