Commissioning the facility, the DCE expressed his joy over the completion of the facility as he narrates that men, women, and children have been occupying a common admission ward that did not allow for privacy amongst patients.
He revealed that the absence of decency in the common admission ward motivated him to convert the facilities’ old garage into an admission ward to accommodate male and female patients separately. He admitted that although the health center needs help with other infrastructure, the ward is a pressing need that is why he used part of the Districts’ Development Fund (DDF) to solve that need.
Mr. Kusi assured the facilities Administration that he will provide all the necessary equipment needed to making the admissions ward complete to be able to serve their patients.
The AdansiNorth District Health Director, Mr. Isaac Awuku Odame was happy with the DCEs rapid response to their request for a befitting admission ward for the health center. He revealed that the sharing of the ward with both sexes made it difficult for the çhealth workers in the administration of their duties just as it was uncomfortable for the patients.
He said, the old ward would be used as the children's ward and entreated the facilities management to take good care of the place.
The Akrokerri Regent, Nana Berchie was grateful to the DCE for changing the facility's unpleasant situation that has lasted for over sixty years and urged him to execute more developmental projects in Akrokerri.
