As at the end of March, the Assembly has collected GH23,060.00, representing 55.78 percent of the first quarter target of GH41,340.75.

The District Chief Executive for the Area, Mr. Peter Light Koomson, who disclosed this at the first ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Ajumako, said a special Revenue Task Force will be put in place to monitor the revenue collectors.

In addition, he said, there will be the erection of Revenue barriers at Enyanmaim and other vantage points, adding that Assemblymembers, the NCCE, and area councils should spearhead the sensitization of the electorate on the need to meet their tax obligations, including property rates.

Mr. Koomson said the Assembly was for the fifth consecutive time successful in the 2012 Functional Organisational Assessment Tool (FOAT), and had been notified to collect GH 666,269.00 as their District Development Fund (DDF).

He said GH 165,559.52 being the third quarter release of 2013 District Assembly Common Fund, was also available for the implementation of the developmental agenda of the assembly.

Mr. Koomson warned that every effort should be made to avoid the introduction of politics into the work of the assembly.

He noted that the general crime rate in the District had reduced, and commended the security services, the District Security Council, the MP, Mr. C. Ato Forson; the President of C/R. House of Chiefs and the Paramount Chiefs of Enyan Denkyira and Breman Essiam, in finding a workable solution to a near clash between Denkyira and Essiam on January 12 this year, following a court ruling on a land dispute.

He hoped the feuding parties would do well to maintain the peace that they are enjoying now.

Mr. Joseph Acquaye Derben, the new Co-ordinating Director who took over from Mr. Philip K. Asamoah, was introduced to members of the House.
