The DCE also assured the clergy that he has already made arrangements with Zoomlion Company for the fumigation exercise to augment the free distribution of veronica buckets and accessories to all churches, which exercise, will begin Monday 15th June 2020.

Following the easing of restrictions by the President of the Republic, to permit religious services to commence, the DCE met with leaders of the various religious groups to discuss the modalities and effective implementation of the directives of the President H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In his opening remarks, he emphasized mandatory wearing of masks for all persons at all times in churches and mosques, a register of names and contact details of all worshippers and handwashing facilities and sanitizers must be provided, with a maximum duration of one (1) hour for each service.

"Those of you who wished to start worshipping, the churches, mosques, and others, must be disinfected, fumigated and safety protocols put in place and it is against this backdrop that there must always exist a healthy collaboration between us and I have engaged the Zoomlion to undertake this important exercise in the coming days and each religious institution will receive Veronica bucket with its accessories " he assured.

"My gallant Men and women of God, while we thank God that North Dayi has not recorded any case so far, we must continue adhering to enhanced personal hygiene and social distancing protocols, regular washing of hands with soap under running water, refrain from shaking hands and wearing of masks when leaving our homes to churches, mosques, markets, offices and other social gatherings," he admonished.

He made these known in separate meetings with the clergy at Anfoega and Vakpo respectively.

As in the words of the President, and with faith "This too shall pass," he concluded.
