MCE leads committee to inspect ongoing sea defence project

The Ketu South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Elliot Agbenorwu has led the Parliamentary Committee on Works and Housing to inspect the ongoing Sea Defence Project at Blekusu and Agavedzi which will be completed in June this year in the Ketu South Municipality.

According to the MCE, the project got stalled in June 2016 and the current government saw the need to revive the project to prevent the perennial loss of lives and property.

During the inspection, Mr. Agbenorwu appealed to the committee to consider extending the project to Aflao to forestall disaster out of destruction due to coastal erosion adding that 100 acres of land have been reclaimed so far.

The chairman of the committee assured the MCE that the committee will recommend the extension of the defence wall to the Sector Minister and Parliament for consideration.
