Supt. David Selom Hukportie introduced to the public as the new Fiator

The Aflao Traditional Area has a new Fiator, in the person of Fiator Hukportie known in private life as Supt. David Selom Hukportie.

He was introduced to the public during a short ceremony held at the palace of the paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Togbuiga Amenya Fiti IV, at Agorkpanu.

In his acceptance and maiden address, Fiator Hukportie outlined his programs for the chiefs under his leadership as an ambitious one which calls for unity, hard work, dedication, commitment, love for family, integrity, honesty, godliness, progress, trust-building, peacemaking and peacebuilding. He described it as conduits of development.

He also expressed how his main priority will be to unite families while ensuring that family structures are put back in place and maintained as prescribed by our great grandfathers.

Fiator Hukportie also stated that, under the welfare scheme, care and welfare of the chiefs would be one of his priorities. He, therefore, asked that they build reciprocal trust to ensure that happens.

The scheme will also care for the vulnerable and needy in the families while development will be focused on education, business, commerce, family welfare, care, formal and informal education.

Fiator Hukportie continued that a family history center would be built for posterity.

He, therefore, asked all to embrace this developmental drive.

Family members located across the world would be traced using a specialised computer database and software program.

It is now estimated that the descendants of Torgbui Agban Tratrabi are about 2.5million people scattered all over the world. Family Geneology is now being constantly tracked.
