GES receive motorbikes from government

The Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Wenchi, has taken delivery of nine Royal branded 150 Horse Power Motorbikes as part of the government's commitment to retooling and equipping the educational sector across the country.

The package, which followed the recent presentation of Pick-up vehicles by the government, was to enable the directorate to effectively carry out its supervisory work in the Municipality so as to fulfill its official mandates in the teaching and career development of the people.

In his remarks to present the motorbikes to the GES on behalf of the government and the Member of Parliament, the Municipal Chief Executive emphasized the government's commitment to providing quality education to the citizens.

Dr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie noted that the government would continue to provide the necessary logistics and resources for all government sectors to efficiently deliver on their mandates in order to improve on the lots of the citizenry.



The Municipal Director for Education Maame Efua Amoah who received the motorbikes said they have been overwhelmed by the government's provisions, even in the era of COVID-19. She said the move would help the directorate to monitor and inspect the activities of schools in the various circuits to ensure quality education as expected.

The motorbikes are expected to be handed to the Inspectorate Division for use by the Circuit Supervisors and other non-teaching staff meetings for official and other administrative errands.
