Assembly fails to endorse President's nominee

The Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly for the third time has failed to endorse the President’s nominees for the position of District Chief Executive.

Mr George Nonterah, a retired teacher polled, 32 votes as against 30 votes representing 51.6 per cent instead of the 67 per cent votes he needed to secure the piosition.

The Assembly earlier failed to endorse Mr Thomas Dalu, the sitting DCE and the first nominee to fail to go through the confirmation process on two occasions that led to the President nominating Mr Nonterah, Per the standing orders of the Assembly the candidate still has the second chance to persuade the Assembly members to vote for him.
