The Regional Minister in responding to an appeal by the Benkumhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area, Osaberimah Ababio III for their roads to be reconstructed during the commissioning of the fire station at Larteh-Akuapem said major steps have already been initiated to address the situation through a collaborative efforts from his office, the MCE and the Lobby Group that has brought some good news.

The Lobby Group he said consists of men is service who are high in Ghana's administration and they have been working closely with the Ghana Highways Authority, as the project falls under their jurisdiction and for that matter the Minister for Roads and Highways.

“We got the Ghana Highways Authority Regional Director to come over and assess it for us, and so far we are at the Ministry pushing to get a contractor to take it over; and so I believe that by the close of this year we should have the contractor come on the road; so far that's how far we have pushed it", he stated.

"I say this with all seriousness; reasons are these - because of the challenges the administration went through in respect of managing the our economy, most of our earmarked projects had to stay for a while, there are several roads that are very critical and crucial to us in the region that we have proposed and raised for government to look at them for us. However, we are still at the Ministry pushing to it done for us".

He said for them at the RCC it is a matter very close to them, "you may believe it and you may take it away; but indeed government determined to ensure that the corridor from Ayikumah all the way to Larteh Junction and to the right to the Akuapem Traditional Area, you'll realize that we have some contractors working on those projects. Similarly, we want Benkum Division to also enjoy same level of infrastructure development, he emphasized.
